Joe Bester is General Manager and a partner at 360 Smart Networks. Joe is responsible for day-to-day general management tasks as well as business development.
With more than 20 years of experience in Managed Services and a background in call center solutions and high-end phone systems, Joe joined 360 Smart Networks in 2010. Like Nantes (CTO) Joe accepted Marius Nel’s (CEO) offer to come build something amazing in return for a percentage of not much, for less than he was earning at the time. Since joining he has not only been key in developing the systems and procedures for day-to-day management but also developing the internal and external sales team.
Since 2010, under Joes leadership, 360 have maintained an annual growth rate of 20-25% annually.
Joe has a unique view on sales that mirror the 360 Smart Networks mantra of “always doing the right thing”. In fact, he has been known to advise potential clients that 360 Smart Networks is not a good fit for them. The fact is that Joe doesn’t really sell anything, all he does is identify future clients and then meticulously track and manage the process until they are ready to join. He does this by diligently working on getting to know potential future clients and paying attention to what they need.
Joe understands that deciding which IT provider to partner with is probably the most important business decision most businesses will make. It is critical to find out if 360 Smart Networks would be good fit. If they are however Joe is fond of saying – “It’s not hard selling something that you have 100% confidence in and you know the client needs”
When not working you can find Joe hanging out with good friends or traveling for pleasure.
